There are transport medium difference, working pressure of transportationdifference and transportation environment difference during the pipe transportationprocess. Great differences of these factors make the pipe connection need differentapproach in practical engineering applications. This study is focus on a new kind ofnon-welded pipe connection technology-axial press-in type pipe connectiontechnology, which refers to the metal below the recrystallization temperature, thesame material or between multiple of materials, following the elastic-plasticdeformation basic principle under the action of material interference fit to realizemutual connection or seal technology.Firstly, we simplifie the structure and establishes the mechanical model, according to the preliminary design of the pipe fittings, utilization the basic principleanalysis Elastoplasticity pipe fittings to achieve the mechanical principle of thesealing performance. The analytical expressions about pre-tightening force, shrinkrange and durable maximum internal pressure are obtained. In theory, the sealingperformance of the pipe fitting is theoretically analyzed. It provides a theoreticalbasis for such pipe fitting practical engineering.Secondly, we simulate the2-inch pipe fitting connection process by ANSYSfinite element analysis software. According to the situation of stress and strain in thepipe fittings connection process contact, we obtain different pipe wall thickness pipefittings optimal shrink range, and come to the relationship between the pipe wallthickness and shrink range. The analysis found that the pipe fittings is not alwaysbetter, the amount of interference, the primary sealing ring but will reduce theaverage contact stress when the excessive interference. Finally, the performance of the pipe fitting seals, connection pipe fittings andseal failure was simulated with ANSYS transient dynamics analysis method, themaximum internal pressure which pipe fittings can withstand is analyzed. Tooptimize the design based on the connected load and sealing performance of twoindicators, thickness, size of the pipe fitting amount of interference. We find thatsealing performance of the pipe fitting will be better after the optimization andconnection load needed during connection is also smaller. Our research result shows that the axial press-in pipe fittings has good sealingperformance, and it provides a reliable basis for class pipe fittings in practicalengineering applications.
