Monolayer brazed diamond wheels are widely used for a wide range of applications fromhigh-efficiency grinding to high-quality grinding due to their large grit protrusion and high bondstrength. However, this kind of wheel is rarely applied to the grinding of Titanium alloys. Becausethe chips of Titanium alloys are prone to adhering to the wheel surface which will reduce the chipspace, thereby increasing the grinding temperature and affecting the machining quality ofTitanium alloys and the service life of the wheels. To solve this problem, this paper developed adressing method using the electrochemical machining, and demonstrated the grinding performanceof the dressed wheels through a series of grinding experiments. The main contents are as follows:(1) A dressing method using electrochemical machining for monolayer brazed diamond isproposed. The cathode used for electrochemical dressing is designed and optimized by using finiteelement analysis software, guaranteeing that the etching removal of filler alloy is well controlled.(2) The relation of working voltage, working clearance, and the speed of revolution of wheelto the etching removal of Ag-Cu-Ti filler alloy is analyzed. The importance order of electrolyticparameters is gained by orthogonal test, and found that the curve of chip spaces became flatten asthe process going. The electrolytic parameters are gained at last.(3) The grinding experiments on Titanium alloys are conducted using dressed wheel. Thegrinding temperature decreased with the increase of etching removal and chip space. As thedressing time increased, the embedding depth of grains is reduced. Observing the surfacemorphologies of the diamond grains, the value of embedding depth is gained. If the embeddingdepth is no more than this value, a large number of grains are pulled out of wheels when sufferedfrom grinding force.
