Imidazole and its derivatives are a very important kind of epoxy resin curing agent, thegrowth of imidazoles curing agent for epoxy resin is15%~20%each year. Imidazole and itsderivatives not only have good curing, promote curing characteristics, but also can reduce thecuring reaction temperature greatly. They have many advantages, such as low dosage(1%~8%), medium temperature curing (80℃~100℃), a long working life at roomtemperature. But most imidazoles compounds have high melting point with the certainvolatile and hygroscopicity. So it is difficult to be mixed with liquid epoxy resin, andinconvenient to the operating process. In order to improve the performance of process,synthesizing a new kind of liquid imidazoles compounds is very important.In this paper themain research content is as follows:In the first part, the key is to synthetize1-ammonia propyl-2-methyl imidazole by usingthe method of catalytic hydrogenation,1-cyanoethyl-2-methyl imidazole (2MZCN) washydrogenated in high temperature and high pressure reaction kettle as the raw material. In theprocess of the reaction synthesis process, the effect of primary amine were discussedrespectively, the reaction temperature, reaction time, and amount of catalyst, reaction pressure,the selection and dosage of solvents, etc. Then characterizated product by using infraredspectroscopy (FTIR) and nuclear magnetic resonance hydrogen spectrum (1H-NMR) and(GC-MS), and usedd the method of distillation purification to calculate the yield of1-ammonia propyl-2-methyl imidazole rate.In the second part, the curing process of1-ammonia propyl-2-methyl imidazole with thecondensation polymer epoxy resin system was discussed systemly. Thermal analysis methodwas used to determine the best curing temperature, the optimal ratio of curing agent, curingtime, etc. Using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) for the dynamic analysis of curingsystem, the storage stability of the system was analysed by FTIR. The results showed that thecuring performance was excellent.Finally, in the study of1-ammonia propyl-2-methyl imidazole polycondensatepolyurethane sealing end condensation polymer of polyurethanein, added small molecules1-ammonia propyl-2-methyl imidazole as end capping agent. And modified polyurethane by introduction of epoxy resin which has high modulus and good chemical resistance.Theinfluence of the amount of epoxy resin, hydrophilic chain extender DMPA, the effect ofNCO/OH, neutralization degree, the end capping agent on water absorption were studied.
