Waterborne nano titanium dioxide slurry and waterborne heat insulation coatings formetal are prepared.Differen factors influencing nano titanium dioxide slurry and waterborneheat insulation coatings are discussed in the paper.This paper consists of the following threeparts:In the first part, waterborne nano titanium dioxide slurry is prepared with surfacemodifided nano titanium dioxide,dispersant,wetting agent and others. Influencing factors likesuface modification, dispersants,wetting agents and preparation process are discussed. Theexperimental results show that: after surface modified by silane coupling agent KH560,nano titanium dioxide can disperse better in water; dispersant3275improve the dispersion ofnano titanium dioxide slurry most obviously,and the optimum dosage is1.5%; wetting agentLCN407can improve the dispersion of nano titanium dioxide slurry most obviously,and theoptimum dosage is0.2%; when the high speed rotating speed is5000r/min, high speeddispersion time is30min, ultrasonic dispersion time is10min,the dispersion of the nano slurrycan reach the best state; the average size of nano particles in the nano slurry is80nm and thenano particles can disperse in water well.In the second part, waterborne heat insulation base coating is prepared with the acrylicresin, rust preventive pigment, hollow glass beads additives and others.The influence ofdifferent acrylic resins, different antirust pigments and fillers, hollow glass bead size andamount and PVC(Pigment Volume Concentration) is dicussed.The results show that:choosing styrene-acrylate emulsion A as binder can make the primer’ performance well; useiron titanium powder, zinc iron titanium powder, phosphorus iron and zinc phosphate asantirust pigment, and the anti-corrosion performance test show that zinc phosphate is the best;when the PVC is25%,the primer has the best performance; when the particle size of hollowglass beads is45μm, the insulation ability of coating is the best and the optimum dosage is15%.In the third part, the heat-insulating finish coating is prepared with acrylic resin,titanium dioxide,hollow glass beads,nano materials and addicitves.The influence of resin,titanium dioxide, hollow glass beads,nano materials,etc is discussed.The results show that:when choosing acrylic emulsion B as film forming material,the finish coating has a goodperformance; titanium dioxide affects the thermal insulation performance of finish coating,the best quantity to account for10%; the hollow beads which adverage size is18μm canimprove the insulation performance of the coating most and the the optimum dosage is10%; among nano zirconia, nano ATO and nano titanium dioxide, the heat insulation effect of nanotitanium dioxide is best.
