CNC cloth-cutting machine occupies an important position in the automationprocesses of textile industry. Since China joined the WTO, market competition isbecoming increasingly fierce. In order to deal with the increasingly intense marketcompetition and changing customer needs, domestic relative backward cuttingequipment must make a full adjustment. Therefore, developed with independentintellectual property rights of high-efficiency, high cutting quality CNC cloth-cuttingmachine will help strengthen China’s apparel industry in the international marketcompetitiveness.In order to improve cutting performance and cutting efficiency of CNCcloth-cutting machine, by comparing the research status of domestic and foreign CNCcloth-cutting machine and the research status of path optimization. This paper startedfrom the hardware and software to design and improve the cutting machine, andproposed an intelligent algorithm to optimize the idle cutting travel.In cutting system hardware design included selection cutting method and cuttingfeed mode, design lathe bed, cutter tool structure, the servo control system and vacuumsystem.The software of cloth-cutting machine consisted of design the control system andpromotion the function of clothing CAD. Included determined the NC embedded PC asCNC control scheme, and matched the PC and the control card. Based on this, thecontrol system has been programmed. And taken into account the actual needs, theexisting CAD has been added some functions such as transformation PLT file toPLTCMD file, simulate cutting process and cutting process real-time monitor.In the path optimization of cutting tool idle travel for cloth-cutting machine, afterstudy, summarized the characteristics of the path optimization problem. Themathematical modeling was established based on these characteristics. Considered theproblem caused by pattern files, the pre-cut function has been developed; this functionensures the smooth progress of the post-algorithm. After researched the problem and theant colony algorithm, this paper proposed intensive multi-contour colony algorithm.And in the latter part of the experiment show that this method greatly reduces idle traveland effectively improve the efficiency of the cutting process.At last, this paper introduced the realization of design research and developmentfor CNC cloth-cutting machine and the manufacture process of whole cutting system.And then concluded the research achievements on the CNC cloth-cutting machine andprospected several aspects of the cutting machine in the future remains to be further enhance.
