CNC cloth-cutting machine is a high-end product of clothing CAM equipment. In the field of clothing industry in China, it is very important. But, at present, our cloth-cutting machines are all imported, and the development of cloth-cutting machine in national is in initial stage. The experiences we have are only based on leather cutting and wrapping box cutting. But they are different from cloth cutting, especially the multilayer cloth cutting. In order to meet the demands of the future market and to support the national industry, it is very necessary to develop CNC cloth-cutting machines which have China's own independent intellectual property rights. Based on this point, a cloth-cutting machine's motion control system based on a motion control card was designed.The thesis mainly introduces the process of the control system for cloth-cutting machines, including the whole project design, the detailed design of the hardware system and the software system, functional tests and so on.First, the whole design proposal was analyzed and decided. Based on the functional requirement of cloth-cutting machines, this thesis designed the hardware and software proposals of the control system which provided a foundation for the following hardware and software development of the control system.Next, the hardware design of the control system was introduced in detail. It introduced the hardware construction of the control system, determined the type of the motion control card and the type of the servo system, and designed the motion control system. According to the functional requires of the head, the pneumatic system was designed which was in charge of up and down motions of the components in the head. According to the characteristics of high frequency vibration cutting, a suitable cutting motor was selected and the control electric circuit was designed. Finally, in order to fix the cloth's position, it gave an account of the vacuum producing methods and designed a new vacuum absorption system which could save a lot of energy.Then, the control system's software design of the cloth-cutting machine was finished. It made a requirement analysis for the control system software. Some functional modules was designed such as files management, DXF interface, code switching, drawing, motion control, process following and automatic grinding. Finally, two key technologies were introduced which included rotating knife algorithm and path optimization in order to improve the cutting efficiency.Finally, according to the designed control system, an experimental platform was made and some functions were tested. The test result indicated that the control system of cloth-cutting machine based on motion control card could meet the expected performance requirements. It can be the reference material to the development of cloth-cutting machine. So the paper has a certain theoretical and practical value.
