In recent years, environmental risk events have occurred frequently in China andeven worldwide with the improvement of people’s living standards. Environmentalrisk events not only disrupt the people’s daily life, but cause serious damage topeople’s property and even life safety. So responding to environmental risk eventseffectively is an urgent issue to tackle in front of every citizen. However, people areeasy to be affected by the framing effect in the process of environment risk decisions. That is to say, decision-makers are often easy to make irrational decisions because ofdifferent ways of problems description, which would reduce the effectiveness of theresponse to environmental risk events, even cause deterioration, and finally lead to moreserious losses. In addition, rational use of framing effect could make public and decisionmakers treat environmental risk events in the same side, also it’s good to cope with theevents.Just under such a background, this article conducts a research on framing effect inenvironmental risk decision. First, the article analyzes the impacts and manifestations tothe framing effect caused by emotional and gender variables in the process ofenvironmental risk decisions. The decision results show that there exists significantstatistical difference between men and women decision makers. This article explains thedifference according to previous work, that is to say, the gender differences of resultscan be explained by the gender differences of emotional experience level. The secondstep is to make further intervention measures of emotion, that is to say, the dissertationintroduces expression suppression and cognitive reappraisal. And the article analyzesthe impact of framing effect caused by the two strategies. Compared to the previouswork, the result shows that the decision behavior has a significant statistical difference. The implementation of the two strategies weakens the framing effect. Lastly, thisarticle uses partial least squares regression principle algorithm to do analysis based onthe two above research results. Besides, the emotion regulation questionnaire and carteltrait questionnaire are used as the research tools. The former is used to collecting relatedinformation about the dependent variable, and the latter is used to collecting data of theindependent variable. The information collected are divided into two parts, and the onepart is for constructing the model, the other part for the verification of the model. This research extends the application areas of the framing effect to the field ofenvironmental risk decisions. On the one hand, this research makes intervention on theemotion variables which have an impact on framing effect and enriches the existingtheories results. On the other hand, the final forecast model possesses a certain practicalreference value. Thereupon, decision-makers can choose corresponding adjustmentstrategy to adjust their own moods to avoid the negative impact of framing effect according to their own personality characteristics.
