Water pollution is one of the main problems in our country. A large number of wastewatergenerated in the methanol industrial production process, which is harmful to human healthand equipment, can not be directly recycled, and it can not be random discharged in order toavoid environmental pollution. The valid treatment technology of methanol productionwastewater was a problem faced by the Shanxi Coking.Take wastewater characteristics into account, physicochemical pretreatment and the SBRtechnology of coal methanol wastewater were investigated through laboratory simulationequipment. The optimum reaction condition was determined through selection, cultivation, and domestication of sludge, and compare of effect factors of physicochemical pretreatment.Utilizing physicochemistry-SBR technology, through controlling relevant processconditions, wastewater generated in the methanol production process was treated, the indicesof treated wastewater were: suspended solids below55mg·L-1, ammonia concentration below10mg·L-1, pH in the range of7.0to7.5, which reached the secondary emission standard ofGB8978-1996Integrated Wastewater Discharge Standard. The study result showed that the physicochemistry-SBR technology was suitable fortreating wastewater of methanol production in Shanxi Coking, and it solved recycle ofwastewater. The technology contributes to the company’s environment and development ofrecycling economy and is of great importance to sustainable development of Shanxi CokingCo.
