In this paper, by universal material testing machine, optical microscopy, focused onthe effect of grain refinement of Al-Ti-C master alloy agent on the microstructure andmechanical properties of aluminum alloy wheels, analysis of Al-Ti-C refiners are idealproduct for the traditional Al-Ti-B refiner. At the same time, make full use of analysis ofoptical microscope, electron probe micro analyzer, X-ray diffraction and field emissionscanning electron microscopy, the morphology and particle size of TiC. Through theanalysis of particle size, the Ti/C ratio is not at the same time, the preparation ofdifferences in TiC morphology and size of Al-Ti-C intermediate alloy, we investigated theeffect of TiC morphology. Research shows that:Al-Ti-C grain refiner significantly improved the mechanical properties of aluminumalloy wheels: the tensile strength and yield strength unchanged, the elongation increasedby an average of19.54%; meet customer requirements of product standards, to enhancethe company’s market competitiveness of the product is the ideal product; instead of thetraditional Al-Ti-B refiner.Have a certain influence on the nucleation ability of TiC particle size, particle size ofTiC particle nucleation ability is about1.6μm best.By use of the aluminium melt reaction synthesis of TiC particle, has obviousinfluence on the morphology and size of Ti/C TiC particles. Different nucleation ability ofTiC prepared with different Ti/C ratio condition, the TiC and the-Al Al-5Ti-0.4Cintermediate alloy mismatch degree is0.068, the mismatch is small, the nucleation abilityis better.
