With the development of rolling technology maturity, the rolls often work under the complex conditions of high temperature, high speed and large load condition long time, which caused great damage to the rolls. Production practice also shows that the fatigue damage and cracks are the main reasons of what causing failure of the roll and affect their lives. According to statistics, the costs produced by the roll consumption is about5%-15%of the steel rolling production costs, therefore we needs to be able to predict fatigue damage life of roll more accurately, and reduce the production cost.This topic according to the particularity of the roll working, when establishing finite element model, I refine it and impose temperature boundary condition and force load in each region respectively to simulate the cycle loading. The main research contents are as follows:Firstly, write APDL program to establishment a three-dimensional model of the roll and mesh it. Secondly, using the written APDL program to impose cyclical changes of force load and temperature boundary conditions on roll, analyze its temperature field and stress field in the work process. Finally, to get the equivalent stress into the APDL program to calculate creep fatigue life of the roll. The whole process by APDL program automatically, it can calculate different structure model automatically only need to modify the model parameters which eliminating the complex process of manual operation, and improve the working efficiency.The research work in this paper has certain guiding significance to predict service life cycle of rolls in rolling production, the use of creep fatigue life prediction method is simple and easy to operate and have good maneuverability. Before production began, first carries on the production conditions of life of roll a preliminary estimate, resulting in replacing or grinding the roll timely before it failure. So we can reduce the occurrence of unqualified products and production accidents.
