Currently there are still high energy consumption, air pollution and seriousdeficiencies in cement production process on the whole and how to achieve energyconservation is the focus attention of the entire cement industry. Cooling and transportprocess of cement clinker is an important part in achieving heat recovery and reduceemissions. It will help to solve the problems of material layer segregation and materialback, thereby increasing the delivery rate and the cooling efficiency of cement clinker. Ithas important theoretical and practical value to final effective using of resources andreducing air pollution.This paper analyzed the promoting structural inadequate of current grate cooler, thenproposed a sing-push transport way of clinker against the problems of clinker layersegregation, particle size uneven and material back in the transportation process.Completed the structural design of swing-push cooler and put a preliminary analysis ofclinker conveying under this way according to the theory of mechanics of granular media.In order to describe the movement of cement clinker, this paper introduced elementdiscrete method to simulate the trajectory of cement clinker, analyzed the inter-particlecontact searching, stress analysis, the iterative method of particles associated locationinformation in different time as well as the solution process. Then the paper got thecalculate program based on the software of Matlab.This paper got the packing density, porosity, elastic modulus of cement clinker, whichwere required in the calculate program by experiments. Meanwhile, a new method ofdescribing the particle characteristics was established.On the basis of above studies, this paper took the trajectory between simulation andtest conditions for comparison by the self-design test device of semicircle block. Theresult verified the element discrete method is applicable to study the movement of cementclinker. Then the paper discussed the impact of swing-push block in different size anddifferent diameter ratio to clinker movement process.
