The central topic of cement industry in the world is energy, resources andenvironmental protection and so on. Grate cooler of cement production line is the keyequipment to achieve energy saving and emission reduction, which mainly used tofinish transportation and cooling of high temperature cement clinker. Aiming at thekey problems of cement clinker's transportation and cooling, this paper researches thehandler and the cooling heat transfer mechanism of cement clinker. The researchresults of the subject laid a foundation for improving the grate cooler's coolingefficiency.Firstly, this paper analyzes the motion state of cement clinker which in gratecooler. A new serpentine movement model is put forward by using bionics principle onthe basis of the motion state. And a new handler of cement clinker is designed.Moreover, this facility has better transmission capacity and mixed ability what isproved through experiment, and the three-dimensional space motion of cement clinkeris also proved. And the cement clinker has random distribution properties. This motionstate makes the contact time between clinker particles and cooling gas longer, whichcan greatly improve the heat transfer efficiency of cement clinker.Secondly, according to cement clinker having the porous media characteristics ofpacking particle, and considering the heat dispersion effect on porous media, thispaper proposes a new physical and mathematical heat transfer models of hightemperature cement clinker. Furthermore, a finite difference method is adopted tosolve the mathematical models.At last, the reasonableness of the above mentioned model is verified combinedwith the practical operation parameters and the actual results. And these practicaloperation parameters and actual results come from1000t/d cement clinker grate coolerof a certain cement plant. Results show that the model is correct.
