This subject comes from a high strength fastening equipment co., LTD, whichproduces the third generation of0405-3-1bifurcation pillow bolt. The bifurcationpillow bolt is high strength parts and widely used in rail switch. Bolt quality isdirectly related to the safety stability of the switch. Nowadays, multistep technologyand heating all of the blanking are normally used to manufacture this kind of parts. Itpossess multifarious, high cost, low efficiency and energy waste.Taking into account these issues, based on the study achievements about largeratio of length to diameter rod parts forming technique, analysis the formingcharacteristics of multistep upsetting and necking technology, this article proposesingle operation and local heating process method to manufacture this kind of parts,so that the forging technology would be more simply and saving energy. Through theanalysis of the deformation process of hot forging about bolts, this article design a hotforging die to fit bolts single operation forming. By exploring the reason of localisothermal heating fill dissatisfaction in hot forging forming, this article put forwardto use local differential heating to solve this problem.With the help of the finite element numerical simulation technology, this articlealso study the differential temperature field influence to mold filling, so that itdetermines the best temperature parameters for mold filling uniformity. Finally,according to the size shrinkage of forging cooled in air determine the billet and moldsize.This article is not only simplify the process of forging bolt, but also reduce theenergy consumption. Through analysis the finite element numerical simulation results,it determine the best heating parameters, so that it provides guidance and laids thefoundation of single process of forging bolt.
