Due to the selects points of crystallization and thermodynamics related factors,the inevitable casting defects exist in ingot such as segregation, porosity, shrinkage cavity and micro-cracks.Large forging ingot casting defects with large cross section inclined more.If the forging method and forging times are not reasonable,they will easily lead to forging inspection level unqualified or heat treatment after forging short of organization and mechanical performance requirements.A major problem facing is how to select reasonable forging deformation process, to eliminate all kinds of cast defects, to improve its organization according to different requirements of large forging material.In this paper,according to the low required no lateral or transverse mechanical properties of low alloy structural steel,high uniformity and polishing asked of plastic die steel and three dimensional tropism to higher demand of hot extrusion die steel forging after inspection requirements are different,different forging deformation systems are proposed.On the basis of the comprehensive research of forging ratio calculation experience at home and abroad and experiment method,the forging direction deformation rate is introduced which is used to depict the forging deformation in the process of different direction of deformation degree,make up for the forging ratio which is difficult to describe,coordination or control the condition of the different direction of forging deformation;At the same time,the pre-open easily burn through specific proportion and convenient operation of the billets upsetting(thickness,width,height=1:1.2~1.4:2.5~2.7)after upsetting,and according to the principle of cross after each upsetting open flat(i.e.,thickness and width swap) and fire back processing a new forging technology,has achieved good effect in large forging materials,high performance low defect and the best economy.Most manufacturers at home and abroad are based on the forging ratio through a series of experiments to develop large forging materials forging process in order to avoid the disadvantages of many times repeated experiments based on the experience of practical production, shorten the production cycle,save the cost of production.In view of predecessors’ achievements in forging process,combined with the rapid development of computer technology,using VB6.0 by use platform secondary development software for computer aided design software of forging process(CAFD),which will be how to reasonably select the best steel ingot mould and make the forging deformation process,the intelligent software.By using the forgingsoftware(CAFD) to optimize the traditional forging process we can conclude:(1)for the the low required no lateral or transverse mechanical properties of low alloy structural steel(e.g.,4140,S355J2G3 steel,etc.),radial accumulative deformation rate reaches about 60%, can meet the actual production needs;(2)for the plastic die steel of table heart tissue,uniform hardness and higher demand to polishing properties(such as SKT4, 1.2311 steel, etc.),lateral cumulative deformation rate of 80% or more, can guarantee its heart consistency requirements;(3)For higher performance of the new hot extrusion die steel(e.g., H13, 1.2343, etc.),the large granular carbides in fully broken steel and welding on all kinds of defects,the three to the accumulative deformation rate should be much fewer and more than 100% in the control.
