In this paper, dry water extinguishing agent was prepared by using a standard blender,studying different, solid-liquid ratio, stirring speed and time. Dry water extinguishing agentwas distributed by screening, and the surface morphology and particle size of the powders byelectron microscopy. So the best experimental conditions were selected. The physical andchemical properties of dry water extinguishing agent were tested by general domestic andinternational reference standard powder extinguishing agent. The fire extinguishing propertiesof different size dry water extinguishing agent were tested by using experimental fire device,and the relationship between particle size and fire performance was studied; The extinguishingproperties of dry water extinguishing agent after modification was tested to research the effectof modification agent on extinguishing agent performance of dry water extinguishing agent,and the factors which effect the fire extinguishing performance of dry water extinguishingagent were studied by comparing withABC and BC powders.The experimental results showed that: the best liquid ratio was1:10, the best mixing timewas15s, the optimal speed was5000r/min. The particle size of product was uniformity and thedry water extinguishing agent had good flowability and dispersibility, the particle size mainlywas between100~300μm.The dry water extinguishing agent density was between0.60~0.70g/mL by using tapwater measure; The flowability was tested by the angle of repose method and determination ofdry holes outflow velocity. Dry water extinguishing agent have better mobility when particlesize was between100~300μm, and dry water extinguishing agent had best fluidity whenparticle size was between300~400μm. Dry water extinguishing agent had good repellencyanfd was in line with the national standard for all segments of particle size. Dry waterextinguishing agent had poor pressure, and the maximum pressure of1.5MPa.Experimental results showed that: the particle size of dry powder extinguishing agentdirectly affected the fire performance, the fire performance was the best when particle size was between100~300μm; The dry water extinguishing agent extinguishing performance ofmagnesium hydroxide was only improved significantly after modification; After contrastingthe test results, The fire extinguishing time and the amount of dry water extinguishing agentwas significantly shorter than ABC powder extinguishing agent, and the dry waterextinguishing agent had the same fire extinguishing agent performance with BC dry powder,but the BC fire extinguishing agent cannot destroy the fire of solid, so the BC poders had somelimitations. Therefore, dry water extinguishing agent had potential applications in the field offire.
