Coal spontaneous combustion is a serious natural disaster in China, mainly happened incoal mine, various types and uses of coal, even in the process of coal transportation. Everyyear, more than300fire areas are closed because of coal spontaneous combustion, whichcaused serious waste of resources. With coal mine strength increasing, the difficult situationof continuous production in many mining areas have appeared in different degrees. Especiallyat the ending of extraction in some mines section, large scale goaf as a threat to the minesafety production is more and more serious. Under the condition of a certain amount of airleakage and oxygen supply, large number of float coal in goaf is oxidated and its temperaturerise naturally, resulting in coal and rock damaging and gas non-uniform releasing, coal seamspontaneous combustion and gas explosion disasters happened eventually. The accumulationof rock damaging and gas releasing induce greater disasters and accidents, which seriouslythreat to the coal mine worker life and the safety of state property. With the increasing ofcoal-mining activities near to large scale goaf, harmful gases caused by spontaneouscombustion or other disasters in goaf flock into coal mine, the risk of injuries or otherproduction accidents increasing, all kinds of disasters and accidents occur frequently, andeventually causing serious casualties and economic losses.In view of the spontaneous combustion hidden trouble in the large area of goaf, combinedwith the practical situation of Nantun coal mine, this paper studies the prevention and controltechnology on spontaneous combustion hazards in the large area of goaf. Starting from theproduction, accumulation of harmful gas migration law research in a large area of goaf inNantun coal mine within the spontaneous combustion danger zone, this paper analysis themajor hazard to mine exploitation which the large mined-out area causes, focuses on studying the coal spontaneous combustion characteristics of goaf, the danger zone and gas shockdisaster control and so on. The paper puts forward how to realize the monitoring and controltechnology of harmful gas of goaf. The application of goaf fire area management in Nantuncoal mine73上25effectively controls that the goaf disaster impact on surrounding influenceof the excavation. The research results play a important role to mine safety production, andfor mine safety exploit provides important technical guarantee, the remarkable economicbenefits are obtained.
