With the development of underground mining deeper, it seriously influence thesafety and high efficiency of mine, especially mining disturbance stress and effectscope increasingly large and unreasonable pillar widths makes roadway deformationdamage extremely serious, repair volume increased significantly, became thebottleneck of restricting the technology development. So, on the basis of the previousstudy, this paper study distribution characteristic of the side abutment pressure andnarrow coal pillar width and surrounding rock control technique of deep-seatedroadway along goaf by the method of theoretical analysis and numerical calculationand industrial testing and field, it promote surrounding rock control technique ofdeep-seated roadway along goaf development and achieve mining of without sectionpillar. We apply the research achievement to Haishiwan colliery and produce notablesocial and economical benefits. The main research results include:(1) This paper research distribution characteristic of the side abutment pressure.It apply numerical calculation to study different mining depth and coal seam hardnessand mining height and distance behind the working face impact on distributioncharacteristic of the side abutment pressure. It provides the foundation for setting upnarrow coal pillar widths.(2) Reasonable narrow pillar widths was determined. To compare stressdistribution rule、 horizontal displacement characteristics and surrounding rockdeformation of roadway with different widths of the narrow coal pillar, and combinewith the theoretical calculation results, so the optimal width of coal pillar isdetermined.(3) Put forward the support principle of deep-seated roadway along goaf andimprove technology system of the safety mining and control of large deformation ofsurrounding rock of roadway.(4) Formed the supporting scheme suitable for this kind of roadway andscientific supporting system. And the industrial test is successful. It obtainsremarkable economic benefits and social benefits.
