The camshaft is core component of the valve-train to control the engine. Its qualityis decided to appoint to improve the fuel efficiency of the engine. In this paper, thenumerical control turning method of the camshaft is committed to explore, do thefollowing work.First of all, the comparison and analysis is be taken on the pros and cons of mouldmachining with CNC camshaft, and the research status at home and abroad, putsforward the necessity and feasibility of CNC camshaft. The paper introduces the fittingof cam contour line of the cubic spline interpolation method and N times harmonicinterpolation method, the cubic spline interpolation method is used to insert number inlift table data with Matlab software. The curvature of the comb function of UG is usedon cam contour curve fairing analysis.This paper expounds the numerical control turning principle of the Camshaft, thenumerical control turning model is established. the design concept of constant cutting isintroduced.The structure with double linear motor rocker slider mechanism toimplement camshaft cutting plan is put forward, the coordinated control of each part areanalyzed. In order to ensure the quality of profile, the constant CNC grindingmathematical model is established.Based on the analysis of traditional processing technology of a certain typecamshaft, the paper proposed the idea of merger turning process, shorten camshaftprocessing chain, Turning platform has been set up, cutting tool angle selection and theway of feeding problems are analyzed, and the optimization toolbox of Matlab softwareis used to do the detailed analysis.for selection of cutting parameter problem.The entity modeling has been carried on with UG software of the camshaft. Feedroute planning is made by CAM(Computer Aided Manufacturing) module of UG for thecamshaft exclusive cam. The cutting of the cam is controlled by voice coil motor inview of the cam lift in C language programming. To realize the cam turning.Numerical control lathe on modified successfully conducted the camshaft machining, verify thecorrectness of CNC cutting principle and process of the camshaft. To improve theflexibility and efficiency of processing and a precision in the shape of the camshaft.
