Metal detectors is an important tools for metal detection field. With thedevelopment of science and technology and the continuous improvement of people ’sliving standards, the quality requirements of the relevant products is also increasing,especially in people’s daily consumption of food, if mixed with metallic impuritieswhich may have very serious consequences, domestic metal detector research andapplication of more widespread attention.The main topic of research for the food production process metallic impurity detection.According to materials and features that may exist in the food production process metallicforeign body, combined with the practical application of research status and developmenttrend of related products designed microcontroller based STC90C516RC metallic foreignbody detection system, which includes sensors, signal conditioning circuits, and SCMsystem and other modules.This paper describes the design of microcontroller-based metal detector, thecompletion of the excitation signal generation module, several aspects of the work of signaldetection module, the subsequent signal processing module detection algorithm design andimplementation, this paper describes an excitation coil and dual receiver balanced coil eddycurrent design consists of a metal detector. After frequency tuning, amplification, filteringstep of generating a stable frequency waveform is good, a large sine wave powersignal;Through filtering, amplification, A\D converter and other aspects can be accurateand stable signal reception without interference; Separate keyboard and use LCD12864buzzer and other equipment designed to good human-computer interaction. In addition to thehardware system, this paper also designed the software part. Software, the mainachievement of the collected data for analysis, parameter tuning and storage, display andalarm handling, this paper presents a flow chart of the above aspects and implementationprocess. In this paper, the hardware circuit simulation experiment produced a system of sensorsand hardware circuit compiled software programs, and system debugging, the experimentaldata showed that the final results are basically achieve the desired design requirements.
