Study Of Ship Wood Furniture Design Concept Based On The Original Ecological Design

As the environment we live in getting worse, and the resources diminished in vain, people tend to prefer natural materials, which phenomenon leads a designing fashion of original ecology. Take ship-wood as a prototype, this paper explored the relationship between ship-wood feature and the philosophy of original ecology, with methods of literature retrieval method, field research method, comprehensive analysis method.First, from the original ecology design philosophy, an analysis of ship-wood background and the research status of both internal and abroad is proposed. It summarized the conceptions and some theoretical basis after systematically analyzing the situation ship-wood is suffering and the designing philosophy of internal and abroad. Next, from aspects of the current status and the innovative ways of designing, the paper construed the ship-wood furniture market pricing and its potential value with a conclusion about advantages and disadvantages of the ship-wood furniture. The conclusion shows that the ship-wood furniture fails batching production because of the limitation of the material resources. The structure of ship-wood furniture should follow the given material, different materials result different features and different craftwork.Secondly, basing on the original ecology design philosophy, we concluded design principles under the instruction of original ecology design philosophy, they are naturalness, nativeness, sentiment and environment-friendliness. These principles rooted in ecology friendliness, explored the nostalgia and spiritual attributes, and in what applied the ship-wood furniture structure design, material selection, color texture and decoration technique.Finally, the author applied the original ecology design philosophy to a modernized ship-wood furniture design, combined the theory above with a pragmatic issue, validated the principles and methods within, built a fundament for further researches.
