The Ecological Environmental Quality Assessment Of The Shiyanhu Forest Park At Changsha

Shiyanhu forest park is the "green central park" of Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan. It undoubtedly plays an important role in constructing resource-saving and environment-friendly society and arranging the three citys’ green heart zone. This paper focuses on analyzing the eco-environmental characters of this park, evaluating its eco-environmental quality and pointing out those negative issues while developing and protecting the park.At first, this paper tries to build a reliable index system of eco-environmental evaluation of forest park, by concerning the eco-system and environmental quality of forest park. The research mainly concentrates on the integrity of its own eco-system, the realization of its ecological functions, as well as the disturbance factors from the external environment. In accordance with index choosing principals of’comprehensiveness and representativeness’ and’simplicity and convenience’, etc., and experts’opinion obtained by the Delphi technique, this paper ultimately selected eight indicators for eco-environmental evaluation. On the basis of these indexes, the index system and AHP evaluation model for eco-environmental quality evaluation are built. The index system includes plant community diversity index, animal species, plant species, forest biomass per unit area, pollution levels in the atmosphere, negative air ions content, water quality indicators, and environmental noise. The former four are natural resource indicators, and the others are for environmental quality.By standardized fieldwork and laboratory analysis, all the necessary data is prepared, involving biomass, carbon storage, species diversity, flora and fauna, air pollution, surface water, negative air ions and noise. And then, this paper analyzes the characters of eco-environment and makes an overall rating. The results show that, the park has high levels of biomass, stock volume and carbon sequestration capacity, rich plant resources, and excellent environmental quality; while its animal resources does not show any advantage. After that, by weighted calculating, the quality index scores8.9535, which indicates that the eco-environmental quality of the forest park is good.Among all the threatening issues to the quality of ecological environment, the most essential concerns are: the threat brought by rapid increasing number of tourists, the threat of interference to the ecological environment by uncivilized behavior, and threat on environmental quality brought by the forest park recreational activities.And then, this paper proposed some measures which are supposed to be applied in the construction and tourism development of Shiyanhu forest park:1, highlighting the ecological brand of Shiyanhu, i.e. green heart;2, designing scientifically and controlling tourists’ scale;3, strengthening landscape cultivation in forest park;4, strengthening education of eco-environmental knowledge to tourists and improving management.
