Research And Application Of The Human-Centered Design For All-electric Injection Molding Machine

The market of injection molding machine is becoming bigger and bigger. However, the market of the hydraulic machine is becoming saturated, the demand and the margins will be flat or even decline. With the advantage of high efficiency, precision, high speed and environmental protection, the market of all-electric injection molding machine (AIMM) is developing rapidly. But the survey shows that the overall satisfaction of domestic brands is lower than the foreign ones. In the completion of all-electric injection molding machine, the products that fit for consumer physiological characteristics, psychological characteristics, habits and aesthetic feelings will win. Therefore, in order to enhance the competitiveness of domestic brands, we must study the human needs. This paper analyzes the all-electric injection molding machine humanized design ideas, studies on the user-centered design process for injection molding machine.Firstly, the paper has analyzed the contents of all-electric injection molding machine from human beings’ natural and social properties. The relationship between user and the machine has been discussed from the sensory interface, cognitive interface, behavioral interface and emotional interface.Then, the paper has put forward the content and principles of human-centered product design for all-electric injection molding machine from the aspects of shape morphology, color, material, modeling structure, NC panels, signs and other moldeling details. The user-centered design process for all-electric injection molding machine has been suggested. That is, determining the target users, collecting and analyzing user needs, establishing user model and analyzing the key steps, prioritization, defining user goals and design tasks, concept design and evaluation. There are several iteration during the whole process.The methods and processes of user research has been discussed in detail. It has expounded the procedure and method of design survey for the main user, secondary user and tertiary user. Based on the data and the information in qualitative and quantitative research, the user needs can be well identified. The paper put forwards the methods of user needs analysis, user task model establishing, action analysis and prioritization. Thus, it enriches the user research theory in the field of industrial equipment.Finally the author applied the method and process suggested above to the design practice in Borch Machinery CO.,LTD. The conceptual design has turned into products and recognized by both the users and manufacturers, thus, verifies the feasibility and applicability of the theory. The content of this paper has a certain reference value for relevant enterprises.
