For the rub style buckwheat shucking, grading is a key process in the production of buckwheat rice. Grading has an influence on shucking effectiveness, separation of the mixture subsequent and energy consumption of the production of buckwheat rice.Currently, there is a lot of room to improve the grading efficiency and effectiveness when take range0.2mm of round screens to grade buckwheat. Buckwheat grading and the shucking effect caused by it is studied in this paper. Improve the grading condition in the aspect of reducing the range of grading and changing the shape of screens hole.Characteristic and dimension of buckwheat, the rub style buckwheat shucking, falling forms of buckwheat on screens of different hole shape and the grading range is researched. The round screens used in traditional buckwheat grading were redesigned. what’s more,a kind of new screens for buckwheat grading--elongated apertures with round screens were designed. Took getting buckwheat of Φ4.6~4.8mm,Φ4.6~4.7mm, Φ4.7~4.8mm with round screens and buckwheat of3.8~3.9mm with elongated apertures with round screens as examples, graded buckwheat under range0.2mm of round screens, range0.1mm of round screens and elongated apertures with round screens under the best grading condition. Shucked respectively under the best shucking condition.From undersize weight, grading efficiency is1.4~1.6%and2.2%higher of grading with range0.1mm of round screens and elongated apertures with round screens compared with range0.2mm of round screens. Whole rice rate is2.6~3.0%and6.6%higher of grading with range0.1mm of round screens and elongated apertures with round screens compared with range0.2mm of round screens, while broken rice rate is2.8-3.4%and4.8%lower. Both reducing the range of grading and changing the shape of screens hole can improve the grading condition in varying degrees, It makes a vital significance of the production of buckwheat rice.
