Acrylonitrile (AN) is a kind of important chemical raw material, and it is also themonomer of three major synthetic materials, which is widely used in the ABS plastic, nitrilerubber, acrylic fiber and synthetic resins chemical products manufacturing. Large numbers ofAN wastewater emissions not only caused the pollution of water, but also caused the waste ofwater. The conventional treatment process can not meet our requirements, so to explore andestablish the targeted treatment, process conditions and feasibility of the scheme is theresearch direction in the future. The paper takes the advanced oxidation technology--wet airoxidation to treat AN wastewater, through the study of the phenomenon and mechanism, so asto provide theoretical basis for experiment research. The main operating conditions such as reaction temperature, initial concentration of AN,oxygen excess and reaction time on the treatment effect by wet oxidation are studied. Theorthogonal experiment results show that the best reaction condition is reaction temperature is240°C, pressure is4MPa, oxygen excess is3, initial COD of AN is500mg/L and reactiontime is5min. Oxygen is the best key factor affecting the efficiency. By empirical model, it isconcluded that wet oxidation of AN wastewater meets the second reaction kinetics.By treating high concentration AN wastewater, the results showed that:(1) The ANvolume is240mL, oxygen is2, when the reaction time increases from5min to25min, CODremoval rate increases from69.13%to89.13%.(2) The reaction time is15min, oxygen is2,AN volume is240mL, when the temperature increases from493to573K, the removal rateof COD increases from67.03%to67.03%.(3) The reaction temperature is513K, AN volumeis240mL, when the oxygen increases from1to3, COD removal rate increases from72.57%to84.97%.(4) The reaction temperature is513K, oxygen is2, AN volume is240mL, CODremoval rate increases from78.19%to90.52%.The research uses wet oxidation method to treat AN wastewater, through the effects ofthe variety of catalyst, it is conclude that the heterogeneous catalyst copper oxide is the bestcatalytic for wet oxidation of AN wastewater treatment. In absence of the copper oxidecatalyst, the research changes the reaction temperature, oxygen, reaction time, catalystconcentration. The data shows that: AN concentration is3000mg/L, reaction time is15min,oxygen is2, reaction temperature is513K, catalyst is0.9g, the removal rate of COD is94.01%.
