Wire cut Electrical Discharge Machining (WEDM) technology has many characteristics, such as high efficiency, high precision, no contact cutting force, less environmental pollution, energy concentration, etc. Which make up fdr the lack of traditional machining and became the important machining means of the mold industry, the national defense industry and the fine manufacturing. So electric discharge wire cutting technology has been widely used in industrial production of our country. After just60years of rapid development, electric discharge wire cutting technology by virtue of their particularity and practicability, brings a huge boost for the rapid development of modern industry and lays a solid foundation for sustained growth of the national economy. But with the development of the times, the existing WEDM using linear interpolation processing principle, so the processing parts which surface finish is poor and rough, and processing efficiency is low, no longer suited to the quality requirements of modern processed products.In order to overcome the above deficiency of wire cutting machining, this paper proposes the true circular interpolation wire electric discharge machining method and interpolation principle, the first time put the true circular interpolation methods and WEDM technology together. Through designing the true circular interpolation WEDM rotary table, which achieved the purpose that accurately approximate any curve track which to be processed, based on the foundation of existing WEDM, in the way of true circular interpolation. Which greatly improve the surface finish of parts machining and processing efficiency, reduce the surface roughness, and meet the requirements of modern mechanical parts machining quality more better. With precision and surface quality improvement, which expanded the application scope of WEDM technology, and have a certain role to promote WEDM towards the high-precision machine tools direction to develop.According to the true circular interpolation WEDM processing features and design requirements, this paper discusses the true circular interpolation theory and control method at first. Then designed the WEDM rotating table to realize the true circular interpolation function based on the existing WEDM. The table is installed on top of the existing WEDM, it will can be achieved true circular interpolation function. Then, based on the IPC (Industrial Personal Computer) or PC (Personal Computer), selected the ADT-856motion control card, which is designed and produced by Adtech (Shen Zhen) Technology CO., LTD, to design the true circular interpolation WEDM control system. Using Visual C++language as a development tool, based on the Windows XP operating system platform, developed interactive interface of the true circular interpolation WEDM CNC (Computer Numerical Control) system.Use of the above design results, put the straight line segments process and the standard arcs process as two examples, from theoretical level and motion simulation aspects, analysis overall performance of the true circular interpolation wire cutting in detail. It is concluded that, from the results of analyzing, the true circular interpolation for the standard arc curves processing efficiency increased21.46%, and for the45°diagonal line segments processing efficiency increased29.29%. The results show that the true circular interpolation method can effectively overcome the shortcomings that, because using linear interpolation method, traditional WEDM processing efficiency is low, and at the same time improving the finish of machining surface. In addition to the WEDM, the true circular interpolation methods and theory can also be extended to other similarly machine tools which use linear interpolation principle for processing, such as water jet machine tools, etc., which have higher value and larger practical significance.
