Food additives are the foundation of modern food industry development, safety andeffectiveness for using of the food additives is the focus of the current concerns of thecommunity. With signing a Cross-Strairt food safety agreement in2008and the entry into forceof the cross-strait economic cooperation framework Agreement (ECFA) in2010. These deepenthe economic of Cross-Strait and trade cooperation, greatly promote Cross-Strait discussion andcommunication of food and food additives. In recent years, due to objective reasons, enterpriseson both sides perform two sets of food additives laws and standard system, there are differencesin the range of usage and limitation, category name, type differences, the range of foods involved,the differences will hinder the development of Cross-Strait trade on food. So carrying outcomparison study on regulation standards of food additives is very necessary, it is alsosignificant to promote the trade of import and export food and ensure food safty.In this paper, we comprehensively stated food additives through three parts. First, bycollecting the Cross-Strait food additive standards and regulations, it was generally overviewed.Then respectively taking food preservatives, food antioxidants,sweeteners and emulsifiers forexamples, comparison study on Cross-Strait food additives standard systems; Second, thefunction and operations of date management platform for food additives would be mainlyintroduced; Third, based on the fast development of Cross-Strait trade, detecting the foodadditives in import and export food was particularly importment. So we took film formersSrearic acid in food for an example, establishing rapid instrument detecting method to provideacute, fast and convenient means of detection for the routine testing in the future.With the rapid instrumental detection method, we got the test results. The result of The Gaschromatography method was that the limit of detection and the limit of quantification were0.3μg/mL and1.0μg/mL repectively, recoveries of steartic acid ranged from83.4%to88.2%, therelative standard deviations ranged from2.0%to10.3%. the results of Gas chromatographymethod with mass spectrometry(GC-MS)was that the limit of detection and the limit ofquantification were0.005μg/mL and0.02μg/mL respectively, recoveries of steartic acid rangedfrom91.1%-97.3%, the relative standard deviations ranged from3.8%-8.6%.
