In the field of packaging design, designers have more socialresponsibilities for designing product packages suitable for those social groups whohave encountered many problems in purchasing and using goods, such as the lack ofcognitive media for vision, perception and hearing. On the whole, visually impairedpeople account for a high percentage among the disabled and this percentage isincreasing year by year. Thus, how to let them perceive and use goods conveniently isa topic that is worth exploring.Based on the characteristics and needs of the visually impaired people, this paperfocuses on designing packages of leisure food of nuts suitable for them by applyingtheories of designing psychology, caring design, and universal design from threeaspects, i.e. package identification, package structure improvement and smartinformation retrieval. It aims to improve the package design so as to safeguard foodsecurity for them in a way. The specific measures are as follows: The commonpost-press finishing technology that can make the package have good tactile effect isused to improve the identification of nuts; Given food security of those people, thecapacity of packages of nuts is limited so that they can control the amount of intake;Since many visually impaired people can perceive light, color lumps are used indesigning the tips, which can give useful instructions to them in terms of foodsanitation; By using a mobile phone to scan the bar codes on packages, those peoplecan know the product information conveniently. The technology of Internet of Thingscan realize “interaction” between the visually impaired person and the product.The exploration of the nuts, snack food packaging design, so that blind people enjoyequal as normal rich and colorful material world.The above exploration in packaging design for leisure food of nuts can let visuallyimpaired people enjoy the colorful material world just like normal people.
