The shoe last plays an important role in the footwear industry, Is is also the base ofdifferent styles of shoes. With the development of CAD/CAM technology, digital design ofthe shoe last is particularly important. In order to achieve the digital design of the shoe last,this paper measured the point clouds of the foot and shoe last, studied the reverse constructionof shoe last based on point clouds of shoe last and foot, the parametric design of shoe lastbased on the feature size and local modification, the simulation processing and the database ofshoe last, and the secondary development of Surfacer and UG.Firstly this paper studied the method applied to measure point clouds of the foot and shoelast, used the3D laser measuring machine to obtain point clouds of the foot and shoe last.Then this paper used the direct observation method and chord deviation method to removeerror points, used uniform grid method to make point clouds reduction and use the STPalignment method to align the coordinates between the measurement data and software. Thenthis paper constructed the geometric model of the shoe last, analyzed the relation between theshoe-last and foot, used the projection of point clouds, reverse construction of B spline curveand surface from the point clouds, the tensile and shear of curve and surface to achieve thereverse construction of the geometric model of the shoe last based on the point clouds of thefoot. Finally, the paper developed the module to achieve the reverse construction of geometricmodel of the shoe last based on the secondary development of Surfacer software.This paper introduced the characteristic parameters to digital design of the shoe last.These characteristic parameters were calculated by using Imageware and UG. Then this paperconstructed the geometric model of the shoe last based on B spline curve and surface, madethe machining simulation of the shoe last based on UG CAM, studied the local modificationof the geometric model of the shoe last based on the secondary development of UG.Based on Windows platform and Access, this paper designed the standard shoe lastdatabase system. The system can query, add, modify and delete the shoe last data, includingviewing the shoe last point clouds and processing data, which facilitates the digital design ofthe shoe.In summary, this paper made the reverse construction of shoe last based on point cloudsof shoe last and foot, developed the measuring data processing modular based on thesecondary development of Surfacer software, made the parametric modeling and its localmodification of the geometric model of the shoe last based on the secondary development ofUG and researched the NC machining emulation of three-dimensional model of shoe last. Theshoe last data including viewing the shoe last point clouds and processing data has beenstored in the standard shoe last database system. The study has important theoretical andpractical value in improving manufacturing efficiency of shoe last, laid the foundation for thestudy of system of customized shoe last Design.
