The device of downhole oil-water separation has the advantages of compact structure,small operating space, the short separation time and so on. The device has graduallyconcerned by domestic and international petroleum enterprise. This paper briefly describesthe research progress of downhole oil-water separation device, the application ofhydrocyclone series technique in related fields which is analyzed. Presents one newdownhole two-stage in-series hydrocyclone separation device, it is matching with theexploitation of the status of China’s high-water oilfield.The downhole two-stage in-series hydrocyclone separation device takes two monomershydrocyclone in-series in the production string, to finish the oil-water separation. The oil withlow water be increased the ground after the treatment, the water with low oil would berejected, the strategy of oil stabilization and water control will be realized by this way. Thewhole structure of downhole two-stage in-series hydrocyclone separation device is analyzedby CFD numerical simulation software, focusing on the flow field distribution characteristicsof the axial inlet spiral vane diversion-type hydrocyclone separator (pre-separationhydrocyclone). At the same time, researched the in-series separation device’s flow fileddistribution, pressure drop, separation efficiency characteristic in difference transitionconnection structure. The results show that the downhole two-stage in-series hydrocycloneseparation device has a high separation efficiency, adaptation to a wide range of operatingparameters, the good efficiency can be maintained in the range of particular paraments.By studying of downhole two-stage in-series hydrocyclone separation technology, makethe downhole two-stage in-series hydrocyclone separation device to adapt the small sizecolumn. The structural parameters, operating parameters are preferred by CFD numericalsimulation analysis software, through the experimental study on the selection of parameters.It provides technical support for promotion and application of downhole two-stage in-serieshydrocyclone separation technology.
