Although the molybdenum resource of China is rich, the grade of the molybdenum is decreased in recent years.Kerosen and diesel oil are commonly used as molybdenum collector in industrial field. PM is a kind of high-proficiency new molybdenum collector.Studying on the difference of the collecting ability of the two collector has practical significance.Through the collecting ability in molybdenite of PM and mixed oil,the dispersion performance of them,the way which they react with molybdenite,reveal the difference of the collecting ability in molybdenite between PM and mixed oil.Through the mineral processing test on real molybdenum ore from Guangdong province, collector contrast test on Mo rougher shows that the recovery and grade of rough concentrate is96.62%,3.16%respectively at the collector PM dosage of96g/t, while the recovery and grade of rough concentrate is95.10%,3.96%respectively at the collector mixed oil dosage of128g/t. When the dosage of PM is lower than mixed oil,it can also get the similar ore dressing index with mixed oil.The result of test on pure molybdenite turns out the collecting ability of collector PM, mix oil, amyl xanthate is as following:PM> mix oil> amyl xanthate. And the optimal pH of collectors during floatation period are as follows:mix oil4-8,PM2-10, amyl xanthate4-7.The interaction free energy between collector and quartz shows that’.the hydrophobic attractive force between PM and water is stronger than that of mixed oil and water, that is to say,PM can disperse better in water than mixed oil. Thus the possibility of collector contract with molybdenum is increased,so the recovery is increased.The interaction free energy between collector and quartz shows that:the hydrophobic attractive force between PM and quartz is weaker than that of mixed oil and quartz. So PM has a lower collect ability in gangue mimeral,that is to say it has an excellent selectivity on mineral. Infrared spectrum test shows that:the absorption of collector PM and mixed oil adsorpt on molybdenite surface are physical adsorption.36graphs,17tables, formula28and71references in this dissertation.
