With the development of digitalization process in the field of metal mine, to realize digital management, production, and design and to build a visual3D underground mine scene has become the trend of the construction and development of the digital mine. And scene simulation technology as the primary means of display of virtual reality, achiving3D simulation of mine underground combining scene simulation technology with the metal mine actual situation is meaningful on mine planning, management and development.Firstly, this paper studies3D data model for the mine underground3D visual modeling, the main works including organizational structures, topological relations, and data structures of metal underground3D entity object. It analyzes the XML defining specifications of metal underground entity object from two aspects:tunnel layered strategy and the standards for basic data type definitions.Then,3D modeling process of mine tunnel is discussed. It extracts3D tunnel spatial information with the ActiveX Automation interactive technology, it uses two special algorithms in the analytical process of extraction of primitive information and generation of tunnel objects. Meanwhile, this paper puts forward the space-level partitioning method on3D network topology. In the aspect of tunnel visual modeling, the tunnel section model and tunnel cross model is established, based on the foregoing mine tunnel basic model is constructed by3ds Max3D modeling software. Then, it discusses the establishment of metal mines underground tunnel scene simulation on Ogre rendering engine.Finally, based on these studies, taking a special mine as the application example, the mine underground tunnel3D Modeling has been built successfully with the provided CAD drawings on3ds Max software and Ogre rendering engine.
