Safety is an important guarantee for the normal exploitation of coal mines and miners’ life safety. In recent years, although the government has increased its investment in coal mine safety production, because the production of coal mine belongs to the underground work. The environment is closed and the space structure is complex. It is full of unpredictable all the time. Therefore, the development of the coal industry has always been subject to the constraints of security incidents. Coal mine simulation system based on VR technology can simulate the coal mine production environment and different coal mine accident disaster, and provide a new safe production training mode for the miners.In this thesis, the VR technology is applied to the coal mine training system development. The VR theory and the key technologies involved in the system development are discussed and studied. Combining system development tools3 ds Max and Virtools, The virtual environment model of mine was simulated.And Some functions of coal mine training system was finished preliminarily.Specific work is as follows:(1)Through go to the coal mine to carry on the investigation and collectedRelated materials and data,understood the coal mine working environment and production process. According to the current application and research status of VR technology in coal mine, determine the main content of this thesis.(2)According to the function and requirement of the virtual coal mine simulation system, the structure design of the system is carried out. System design steps are described in detail. Through the overall analysis of the system,the overall structure of the simulation system has been obtained, and the detailed design of each functional module has been also given. In the system of assessment, this paper proposes a new assessment model of edutainment.(3)The virtual scene is the basis of the simulation system. This paper puts forward the tunnel modeling method of "middle line loading section",the modeling algorithm of tunnel section is optimized, This thesis focuses on the two tunnels, the intersection of the three tunnels modeling algorithm and the smooth processing of tunnel intersection. Finally, use 3ds Max modeling technology to generate the tunnel model.(4)According to research the basic theory and method of modeling of the virtual characters and compared the different geometry modeling technology and the character animation production method. Using the 3ds Max polygon modeling technology to create the character geometry model, apply skeletal skin animation algorithm to achieve the character’s animation production and achieve a virtual miner model simulation.(5)Applying virtools technology to finish the control of virtual characters invirtual coal mine system, the camera control in different angle of view and the scene three dimensional roaming and other functions. Combination the bounding box collision detection to realize the collision detection of objects in the virtual scene.
