Naphthaldehyde has a widely applications in synthesis and chemical analysis, itis a common chemical reagents and dyes. the carbonyl has strong activityformaldehyding with double amine generated double Schiff base have antivirus、antipyretic、antibacterial activity, it has widely use value in medicine. This paperintroduced the definition of the Schiff base、reaction mechanism、its application andthe synthetic methods of Schiff base complexes, expounding the structure and theresearch progress of thorium complexes and its research significance.Thorium is a natural radioactive element, which is3times of uranium in theearth’s crust reserves. It has a widely use in commercial and industrial. And it is also apotential nuclear fuel.Most of Schiff base complexes has a certain biological activity,such as antibacterial, disease resistance,anticancer, antivirus and so on.So the researchof Schiff base and its complexes is becoming a hot pot in biological chemistry、coordination chemistry、inorganic chemistry、medicine chemistry,Which attractspeople’s attention. Now many of these Schiff base complexes about transition metaland rare earth metal ions have been reported, But rarely reported about actinide ions.Because of the special biological effect of Schiff base and actinide ion, Schiff basederivatives and its metal complexes has the advantages in the medicineantiphlogistic、acetanilide、sterilization,so more and more people turn their attention tothem.The paper contains three chapters.In the chapter1, this paper introduces briefly the definition of Schiff base、reaction mechanism、the methods of synthesis、the application of Schiff base andsummarizes the research contents and significance. In the chapter2, the Schiff base ligand3-((E)-(6-((E)-(3-hydroxynaphthalen-2-yl)methyleneamino)pyridin-2-ylimino)methyl)naphthalen-2-ol(HNAPME)is synthesized,The ligand reaction with Th(NO3)4·4H2O generate corresponding complex, ligand andits complex had been characterized by elemental analysis, UV spectra, IR spectra,TG-DTG,1H NMR spectra, The antimicrobial effect of ligand and complexe againstBacillussubtilis, Escherichiacoli, Lactic acid bacteria was tested by filtering papermethod.the research results showed that the ligand and complexes both have goodantibacterial effect, and the complexe is better than ligand,the best concentration ofantibacterial effect for complexes is5mmol·L-1.In the chapter3, the Schiff base3-((E)-(2-((E)-(3-hydroxynaphthalen-2-yl)methyleneamino)phenylimino)methyl)naphthalen-2-ol(HMPNAP) is synthesized, Theligand reaction with Th(NO3)4·4H2O generate corresponding complex, ligand and itscomplex had been characterized by elemental analysis, UV spectra, IR spectra,TG-DTG,1H NMR spectra,The antimicrobial effect of ligand and complexe againstBacillussubtilis, Escherichia coli, Lactic acid bacteria was tested by filtering papermethod.The research results showed that the ligand and complexes both have goodantibacterial effect, and the complexe is better than ligand,the best concentration ofantibacterial effect for complexes is6mmol·L-1.
