Roof abscission layer instrument is dedicated roof strata movement monitoring instruments. It can display separation cases were within the scope and length of anchor bolt with outside the scope of the roof strata, providing accurate bolt length and tensile strength of mine engineers and inspectors on the reasonableness of the use of anchor, economy provides the necessary scientific basis. Through various types of mesh roadway roof separation observations carried out in full, we are widely recognized observation of roof separation of mesh roadway support, guidance and reform play a warning. According to the data analysis of the roof separation observed, results in different geological conditions, lithology changes, etc, summed up the anchor mesh roadway network within the scope of separation capacity, timely and effective support to take other measures to prevent roof collapse fall accidents and ensure safety in production.At present, coal mine roof separation instrument are mainly mechanical separation direct reading instrument and digital roof separation into two categories, the digital meter roof separation applications are gradually spread, but the mechanical separation of direct-reading instrument displacement indicator is still the most widely measured roof separation device.ZigBee is an emerging wireless network technologies, mainly characterized by low power, low cost, high-capacity network support, fast, reliable, secure and meet the wireless sensor network communication protocol requirements. Nowadays most of the coal used in the roof separation instrument requires manual scanner, an increase of human error, and a lot of manpower and material resources, so the use of ZigBee wireless communication technology to monitor displacement of the entire roof system reduces installation costs and greatly reduce the error, while has a huge market.This paper compares the commonly used wireless communication technology, as well as a variety of wireless technology feasibility study, design of a network-style roof separation monitoring system. The system adopts ZigBee technology and the485bus automatic switching mode for data transmission, and use of substation, ground control center computer and roof abscission layer instrument in every measuring position constitutes a wireless sensor network. At the same time roof abscission layer adopts sectional digital capacitance sensor instead of displacement sensor with subsection. Through field test by Shanxi Province Huiyang coal mine, the results show that:through Man Machine interface of the substation, it can monitor the state of roof separation in real time, and this way realizes automation and network of abscission layer monitoring; using the sectional digital capacitance sensor improves overall measurement accuracy of the product and reduces the cost.
