Iron and steel industry is the basic industry of China’s industrial system, it plays animportant role in national economic development, but as the basic raw material of steelsmelting iron ore, and its importance is self-evident. However, a serious shortage of iron oresupply in our country and under the background of demand is far greater than supply, then ourcountry become the world’s largest iron ore importing countries. At the same time, in view ofChina’s iron ore are mainly distributed in northeast and north China region, and moreconcentrated in north China, east China, south China iron and steel enterprise. Therefore,under the iron ore import volume, the uneven distribution of domestic production and demandsituation is bound to bring a lot of iron ore storage and transportation work.Then for a long time, the iron ore powder mainly attached to the rail, and mostly adoptsthe gondola car transport. In the course of carriage, due to the switch, roadbed and railfacilities caused by turbulence, coupled with the effects of the wind transportation vehicles,especially when the train into a certain length of the tunnel, as a result of the action of thepiston wind, can form strong disturbance airflow, instantly making mineral powder particleson the surface of the iron ore powder in the process of transportation vulnerable todisturbance and produce a large amount of dust, serious pollution of the environment, alongthe serious threat to the surrounding city air environment, at the same time brought hugeeconomic losses. Through the literature review shows that for iron ore powder in the processof storage and transportation of dust pollution and resource waste problem, the practical andnovel methods is a chemical dust suppression agent. This method of dust suppressiontechnology has become the most important research directions one. In this thesis, a screeningfor iron ore dust suppressants, and conducted laboratory studies on its various properties.Firstly, through the viscosity and compressive strength of research and testing laboratoryspraying of base CPT-A, accessories CPT-B, CPT-C, and determined to1.0%CPT-A and0.5%CPT-B as iron ore the best formula dust suppressants. The viscosity of dust suppressants:50~80mPa·s, compressive strength≥65KPa, Solidified layer thickness formed afterspraying dust suppressants is about10~13mm, and is water-soluble, easy to spray, low cost,no secondary pollution, and meet the basic requirements of iron ore dust suppressants.Then do a lot of application performance testing of formulation of new dust suppressants,research shows that: dust suppressants average penetration rate was0.00607mm/s. The dustsuppression agent solution penetration depth up to10mm or so at different temperatures andnearly half an hour, good permeability and adapt to changes in temperature outside of-10℃~40℃. Iron ore powder spraying dust suppression agent in30m/s (108km/h) under thewind speed of wind abrasion for5minutes, wind erosion quantity does not exceed0.19%.Dust suppression agent solution on the average corrosion rate of stainless steel and rubber islower than distilled water specimens for corrosion rate or distilled water and spraying dust suppression agent for transportation vehicles and other equipment non-corrosive effect. Dustinhibitor in has good resistance to wet effect, spraying dust suppression agent aftersolidification layer can stand the test of the heavy rain. The strength of the solidified layerformed by spraying dust suppression agent can endure the test of-15℃to40℃temperature and dust suppression agent conjunctival time is about5h after spraying, and itcan control the dust pollution in a relatively short time. Dust suppression agent almost doesnot contain harmful element for iron ore smelting of iron ore powder before and after sprayand dust suppression agent each element index change is small, and spraying dust suppressionagent for iron ore without adverse effect. Via detecting heavy metals contained in the dustsuppression agent e. low or rather than drinking water standard, dust suppression agentsprayed with almost no adverse effect to human body. Therefore, from the Angle of thelaboratory, the dust suppression agent meets the demand of iron ore powder dust dustsuppression.The results of this paper can provide laboratory research data reference for other ore dustsuppression agent for further study. In actual application of the dust suppression agent canproduce good economic and social benefits, and it has wide application prospect.
