Carbon is one of the world’s most important elements. It has unique structure and property. Since its discovery in2004, graphene has shown its excellent property as a new briny carbon material. Therefore, the preparation and application of its composites have aroused the attention of researchers all over the world. Now, researches related to this topic mainly concentrates on the preparation of briny composites combining graphene with polymer, metal, metallic oxide and nonmetal. The composites of microwave absorption property are with high density, uniformly dispersion and difficultly molding.Aimed at to make up the shortage of current graphene composites, this paper proposes to prepare ternary absorption materials. The composite is prepared by simultaneous and in situ reduction method using graphite oxide (GO), nickel salt and polyethylene oxide (PEO) as raw materials. In the meantime, this paper explores the Hummer’methods to prepare graphite oxide and also explores the chemical reduction methods to prepare graphene, absorption microwave property of graphene/Ni and graphene/PEO composites. At last, we analyze and characterize the composites’ chemical composition, structure, morphology, magnetic property and microwave absorption property through kinds of analysis testing methods.Graphite oxide is prepared by strongly oxide flake graphite and it includes oxygen-containing groups, such as hydroxyl, carbonyl and epoxy. These hydrophilic groups are good to the dispersion from GO to single flake graphene oxide dispersion. Then after adding in different reduction agents and changing of the research condition, graphene oxide dispersion can prepare nano-film graphene and3D graphene. Then we use GO/Ni2+dispersion to prepare graphene/Ni composite by synchronous reduction method and GO/PEO dispersion to prepare graphene/PEO composite by in situ reduction method. Graphene/Ni/PEO ternary composite can be prepared by simultaneous and in situ reduction in GO/Ni2+/PEO dispersion.This paper indicates that graphene/Ni binary composite can synergistically strengthen microwave absorption property, but their shortages are uniformly dispersed and easy to be together. Graphene/PEO binary composite can be formally dispersed and has microwave absorption property, but its shortage is with single function fillers. Graphene/Ni/PEO ternary composite can formally disperse graphene and Ni, and in the meantime double fillers can synergistically strengthen microwave absorption property. Graphene/Ni/PEO ternary composite has minimum reflection loss to-21.5dB at6.3GHz. Effective absorption bandwidth under-lOdB can reach2.8GHz (5.0-7.8GHz). Microwave absorption property of ternary composite is prior to binary composite.
