With the development of modern industry, the request of castings quality andproduction efficiency is very strict. The use of CAD/CAE/CAM technologycanachieve the integration of design, analysis and manufacturing process in the CastingProcess Design. Improvement of the casting technology research and developmentefficiency can reduce the enterprise costs in casting process research,and improve thequality of the castings. Therefore, CAD/CAE/CAM technology is very important inthe casting industry.The casting process design, filling and solidification process analysis, molddesign and machining simulation have been done based on CAD/CAE/CAMtechnology in this paper. Before the new product trial, there have been manyproblems in the actual casting production processes. First of all, mechanical analysisof the mechanical parts should been done basedon analysis results, which iscombined with the casting design theory and experience of casting process beforecasting process design. Secondly, the use of UG NX for casting, pouring system,feeding system and mould for physical modeling could be done. Thirdly,we useAnyCasting to simulatethe metal melt filling and solidification process, analysissimulation results, and to predict possible defects in casting processby changing thepouring system, the structure of feeding system and casting parameters such asmeasures to optimize the casting process. Finally, using UG NX to modelling designtemplates and template of programming and machining process simulation, referencesimulation results determine template of machining program.In this paper,CAD/CAE/CAM technology is used in the process of castingtechnology research and development to complete expounds a new casting processdesign. Therefore, CAD/CAE/CAM technology can be better used in the servicefoundry industry in our country.
