UV-curable coatings as an cnvironmentally friendly and energy saving coating, the features is that radiation curing technology is used, compared with the original traditional coating curing technology, radiation curing have many advantages of high efficiency, energy saving, suitable for heat sensitive substrates, small equipment and cured films which have good performance and many other advantages. With the growing awareness of environmental protection, it is an inevitable trend which is the traditional thermal curing will be replaced by the radiation curing. UV-curable coatings (Ultraviolet Curing Coating), referred to as UV coatings, which use UV light as a kind of curing energy,, radiation-induced the different components of paint by chemical reaction directly at room temperature, film are curing and cross-linking in a very short period of time. UV coatings are an new environmentally friendly paint. In this paper, through molecular design and synthesis of polyurethane acrylate (PUA),used y-methacryloyloxy propyl trimethoxysilane oxygen as precursor of inorganic phase to prepare nano-sol by sol-gel method. Discussed and studied the impact of factors of preparation. such as the impact of catalyst, solvent, temperature of reaction, the PH value of reaction system and other factors.Identified the process of prepared nano-sol. Studied and discussed the microstructure of nano-sol by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), transmission electronmicroscopy (TEM) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and other test methods. Observed nanoparticles is about70~80nm in size by transmission electron microscopy in nano-sol,and well-dispersed, large-scale agglomeration was not been observed.Used polyurethane acrylate (PUA) as the oligomers of UV-curable coatings, the compound with nano-sol to prepare can be organic/inorganic hybrid materials which can be UV cured. Studied and analysised the internal structure, thermal stability, surface properties and mechanical properties of UV-curable organic/inorganic hybrid coating by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) test, thermogravimetric (TGA)tests, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) test, measurements of contact angle, tensile tests and other tests. The results showed that nano-sol can improve the pencil hardness, the adhesion and mechanical properties such as tensile strength of hybird coating, while Enhanced thermal stability, chemical resistance of coating.Review as described, UV-curable hybrid materials was successfully prepared by sol-gel method, and identified process conditions of nano-sol. Identified the formulation of UV-curable organic/inorganic hybrid coatings which have good thermal stability, mechanical properties and chemical resistance.
