Castor is a kind of soft oil plants with high oil content. The castor oil extracted from castor seeds has high medical and industry value. Although the castor plantation areas continuously grow in our country, the research of screw expeller for castor seeds has not been paid enough attention yet. Limited by the lack of temperature calculation theory of pressing chamber, there are lots of problems for current screw expellers to expelling castor seeds. So it is significant to research the temperature of screw expeller for castor seeds.Objected by the screw expeller for castor seeds, the temperature calculation method of pressing chamber and the best pressing temperature of castor seeds have been studied in this paper. The main reason for affecting the performance of double-screw expeller has been obtained and the solution has been proposed.The main research content and conclusions are as follows:1. German LK single-screw expeller was modeled and simulated on steady heat conduction, by comparing the result of simulation and experiment, the inverse problem method of heat conduction in the calculation of chamber temperature distribution of screw expeiler was proved applicable;2. With German LK single-screw expeller, castor seeds were pressed under six different kinds of temperature. The ratio of residual oil in cake, acid value and ratio of residue in oil were obtained. By analysis of the experimental data the best pressing tempreture of castor seeds was obtained under pressing;3. To sovle the problems of low yield efficiency and poor oil quality pressing by SZJ-10double-screw expeller, experiment and simulation of the temperature range of pressing chamber have been done. Results showed that low temperature was the essential factor;4. The heating parameters of doble-screw expeller were theoretically derivated, and through experiment testing and simulation analysis, the reliability of the theoretical derivation was verified. Based on this theory, a method of heating for doble-screw expeller was designed.
