Abstract:Castor is a kind of soft oil plants with high oil content. The castor oil extracted from castor seeds has high medical and industry value. Although the castor plantation areas continuously grows in our country, the research of castor seeds screw expeller pretreating castor seeds has not been paid enough attention yet.Varieties of problems for current screw press to expelling castor seeds arised because of the lack of press mechanism on screw press. So it is of significance to research screw press mechanism for castor seeds.Aiming to extract the key parameters of a double screw expeller with the treatment capacity of10tons per day, the press mechanism of castor seeds and screw expeller have been researched in details with the help of related apparatus in order to provide reasonable references for designing screw expellers.The main contents have done as follows:1. Analyzed the state of castor seeds in the screw expeller, the mathematical models of feed and press sections in screw expeller were established on the basis of theories of nonplug and plug. The relevant factors affecting transport rates and press pressure were analyzed. Meanwhile the press pressure curve of each section of LK expeller was obtained.2. The testing apparatus to study press properties of oil plant has been developed, with which experiments of castor seed oil-point pressure was carried out. The equation of castor residual oil content was fitted with the experimental datas. The main influencing factors to the residual oil content and reasonable press time were pointed out.3. Groups of experiments under several conditions were carried out. Based on the equation of castor residual oil content, the maximum pressure in chamber of LK expeller was calculated, and the factors causing the tolerance between experimental values and theoretical values were analyzed.4. The equivalent model for the cake section of LK expeller was built, and the inlet pressures in cake section were simulated with the help of ANSYS/FLOTRAN.The numerical results were compared with that of experiments.5. Compared the superiorities and inferiorities of single screw expeller to double screw expeller, the layout form and key parameters of new double screw expeller for castor seeds were designed, on which the press pressure, transport rates and press time of the new screw expeller were checked, and the cake adjusting device of new screw expeller was developed.
