As aerospace shipbuilding automotive and mold the rapid development of modernindustry, The parts of complex shape is more and more, the accuracy requirement arealso increasing. As aerospace, shipbuilding, automotive and mold the rapid developmentof modern industry, parts of complex shape are more and more.The accuracyrequirements are also increasing. Meanwhile, the fierce market competition also requiresproduct development and production cycles getting shorter. The traditional method ofprocessing equipment and parts have been difficult to adapt to the complex, high-qualityand efficient processing requirements. CNC machining is a high precision and highefficiency method for complex surface machining. Blade is a very important part forsteam turbine, which is a typical parts with complex surface. Its structure is directlyrelated to the efficiency of the turbine. So its machining precision requirements is high.. This article is based mainly on CATIA V5CAD modeling and CAM processingabout the overall impeller. Firstly I use C#to complete the transformation of the datagenerated NEI format data on the computer, and then I put the data into UG6.0tocomplete the transformation of the generated iges format. Good data will be convertedinto CATIA V5. Then I do the overall impeller CAD modeling. The operation includesspline, filling, sweeping, bonding and others. After the completion of the CAD modeling,the article use CATIA V5five-axis CNC machining to complete the shape of theoverall impeller CAD model machining: processing technology and planning; partsoperational definition (including the selection of machining tools; setting processingcoordinate system and the definition of parts, etc); setting processingparameters (including geometric parameters, tool parameters, feed rate and tool pathparameters, etc) generating CNC tool path; testing CNC tool path.
