In order to analyse the folw of wheats in wheat conveying process and the interactionbetween wheat and water in wheat cleaning process, the screw conveyor axis and wheats inwashing wheat slot were regarded as the main research objects based on the operatingprinciple of wheat washer. The research purpose is to provide the theoretical reference for theoptimization design of the churning and energy conservation wheat washer FDCXM-40*150(1). The research works are as follows:First, the structure parameters were extracted from the trial model and the parameters ofequivalent grain mode were calculated based on the discrete element method, the contactmodels in wheat washer were created using the discrete element software EDEM. Theapproximate model was calculated and the folw of wheats in the wheat grain conveyingprocess was adopted in approximate actual working condition. The analyzing results showthat when the rotating velocity of screw conveyor axis is constant, the axial average velocityof wheat flow in wheat grain conveying process not gradually increases as the filling rateincreases in washing wheat slot, a turning point exists. In the application of actual production,the filling rate should be larger than the turning point value. When the number of wheat grainsat the the entrance is constant, the average angular velocity and average axial velocityincreases as the rotating velocity of the screw conveyor axis increases. The conclusions aboveshow that the rotating velocity of screw conveyor axis is the main affecting factor of the dustcleaning efficiency of wheat surface.Second, the parameters of the wheat phase and the water phase were extracted based onthe computational fluid dynamics. And the turbulence model of the fluid computationaldomain in washing wheat slot was confirmed by calculation. The flows of wheat and waterwere adopted by using the multiphase flow model and the Fluent software solver. Byanalyzing the distributions, steamlines and vectors of velocity, ect, it illustrates that the waterand wheats dragged each other, and results in friction in moving. It is very useful to removethe dust of wheats surface.
