Application And Design Research On Structural Modularization Of Modern Wooden Tables

Following the development of the times, the paper combines the characteristics of designand manufacture of modern wooden furniture in China. The main objects of the study includedining furniture, desks furniture, dressing table furniture and coffee table furniture. On the basisof the background of modular furniture and taking modular design ideas as the main line, thepaper discusses how to conduct modular design of modern wooden tables and its applicationpractice. The main results are as follows：(1) The structure modules of the dining furniture can be divided into face-frame module,side-frame module, leg pole/bipod module, former-water module, celi-water module, paneldrop-down bar module, side-crosspiece module and interface module.(2) The structural modules of the desks furniture can be divided into face-frame module,side-frame module, middle side-plate module, backplane module, front-crosspiece module,drawer module, keyboard-pumping module, table-cabinet module and Interface module.(3) The structural modules of the dressing table furniture can be divided into face-framemodule, side-frame module, middle side-plate module, backplane module, front-crosspiecemodule, layer board module, drawer module, table-cabinet module and interface module.(4) The structural modules of the coffee table furniture can be divided into face-framemodule, side-frame module, middle side-plate module, backplane module, bottom-framemodule, drawer module and interface module.(5) After analysis and discussion of removable interface of small cross-section parts, thepaper gets the size of the interface of the small cross-section part is: width <41mm, thickness<23mm. And make the interface design.(6) The performance of removable interface of small cross-section parts in flexural strength,tensile strength and torsional strength are lower than that of oval mortise and tenon joints, butcan basically meet the actual application requirement. In addition, the wood properties have aseriously impact on the mechanical strength properties of interface of the small cross-sectionparts.(7) The following contents of wooden desk furniture are standardized, including overallsizes, components sizes, interfaces (including mortise and tenon joints and connectionscombination), components names, commonly used fillet radius and drawing numbers.(8)The paper constructs the structure module library of dining furniture, desks furniture,dressing table furniture and coffee table furniture and encodes for every structure module.(9) Using the structure module library of dining furniture and the method of modular designto design6modern wood rectangular tables for young people aged between of18-35. Andthrough the formula method and the estimation method drawed the average percentage of thesuitability of the structure module library of dining furniture is about62%.
