This thesis deals with some key issues in the development and application ofCNC system for a novel five-axis machine tool based on a3-DOF parallel spindlehead, covering kinematics analysis, development of CNC system, electro-mechanicalcoupled modeling of servo feed system. The following contributions have been made.(1) The transformation algorithm between NC code coordinate and the servomotor pulse equivalent is established by using the vector chain method, providing atheoretical support for the embedded kinematics model of CNC system and thepost-processing function development. On the basis of numerical search method, thebasic data of the working space is obtained.(2) On the basis of IPC and the motion controller, the hardware platform of thefive-axis machine tool CNC system is constructed. The software system is designedbased on LabVIEW8.5software combined with Turbo PMAC library files. Accordingto the characteristics of the parallel mechanism, three traditional functions of PLCcontrol, motion control and HMI are developed. Based on UG8.0, the post processingfunction is implemented for the conversion from cutter location files to NC codes.Moreover, the NC machining simulation module based on VERICUT7.2is developedto satisfy the requirement of machining simulation.(3) Using vector control method, the reference model of servo driver system isestablished. Then, a system identification method is put forward and the parameteridentification algorithm is derived, with sine sweep signal considered as the exciting.The electromechanical coupling structure model of servo feed system is deduced. Thiswork provides an elementary basis for the further study on the control method of thisnovel five-axis machine tool.
