As a new coating, polyaniline is environmental friendly, pitting-resistant, goodcarve-resistant performance, compared with ordinary anti-corrosion coatings. Onedrawbacks of polyaniline is low solvency. Even though the solubility of polyanilinedoped with organic sulfonic acid can be improved, but the existence of insulationdopant resulting in lower electroactivity and conductivity, which limits the use ofpolyaniline.Depending on their unique structural, mechanical, electronic properties, Carbonnanotubes behave electronic properties suggest that CNT have the ability to promoteelectro-transfer reaction and as conductive phase.In this work, to combine their advantage, synthesis of PANI and CNT compositewas carried out, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) technology is used toevaluate the anti-corrosion performance of PANI/MWNTs coatings. The mainresearch results are as follows:Conventional chemical oxidation are used to synthesize polyaniline doped withorganic acids and inorganic acids. Then the PANI is characterized by scanningelectron microscopy (SEM) and Infrared Spectroscopy, The results show that thesynthesized PANI is spherical particles. EIS is used to evaluate the anti-corrosionperformance of PANI/Epoxy coatings. The results show that the doped level seriouslyaffects the anti-corrosion performance of PANI coatings, because of high solubility,DBSA-PANI coatings has the best anti-corrosion performance.The dispersion has been improved when carbon nanotubes obtained carboxyl afteracid treatment. Conventional chemical oxidation are used to synthesizePANI/MWNTs composite, Synthesized particles were investigated using SEM、TEM、CV and conductivity. The addition of MWNTs leads to higher electrical conductivityof PANI. At the10%MWNTs concentration, a maximum in conductivity andanti-corrosion performance were observed.From empirical tests herein,3%PANI/MWNTs coating yielded the highestvalues of coating pore resistance via EIS and a more compact microstructure asanalyzed via SEM.
