Servo mechanical press is a new kind of presses driven by high-powerservomotor. Design of servo stamping motion is the core technology thatpushes servo mechanical press into widely use. In the funding of NFSC(Grant No.51275284, No.50875161), Program for New Century ExcellentTalents in University (Grant No.NCET-10-0567), and Research Fund ofState Key Lab of MSV (Grant No.MSV-ZD-2010-02), the followingresults are obtained.Firstly, time-varying NURBS for space motion is proposed byintroducing time into the NURBS curve as a new component. Theexpression of velocity and acceleration is clarified. The method ofinterpolation with multi-order conditions enables users to give informationof position or velocity or acceleration of key points for motion curveinterpolation.Secondly, a single-field model in stamping space for servo stampingmotion design is proposed. The influence of interpolation on motion curveperformance is analyzed. Algorithm for generating motion curve ofholding craft is proposed based on flattening algorithm of NURBS curve.Based on the characteristics of typical crafts, seven typical servo stampingmotion is designed. Redesign the stamping motion of an automobile wing,the quality of product is improved and the producing time is reduced.Thirdly, to further improve servo stamping productivity, segmentationmodel based on time-varying NURBS is created. Servo stamping processis divided into quick feeding, loading operation and quick return. Themotion of loading operation process is designed in stamping space. The motion of quick feeding and quick return is designed in the driving space.A flexible acceleration and deceleration algorithm based on5-point2-degree time-varying NURBS is proposed. An integral servo stampingmotion is generated through splicing. Production cycle is reduced at thesame time product quality is guaranteed.Finally, based on the models above, two interactive design systemsare developed. To realize interactive function, algorithms for graphicinteractive design are proposed. Algorithm for outputting motion commandby uniform time is also developed. The servo stamping motion forautomobile side wall is designed in the interactive system, thus improvingproductivity as well as ensuring product quality.
