Garment is people-oriented, and the structure design of garment shall meet the needs of bodycharacteristics and comfortable requirements. As an important category of garment, the structuredesign of trousers plays a decisive role in reflecting the beauty of lower body of human body aswell as the wearing fitness, among all the garment categories. Trousers structure design abroadbegins to be conducted by transforming the three-dimensional data of human body intotwo-dimensional patterns. However, the domestic research of trousers is not mature, and thetheoretical level is still not enough, the research methods still stuck in the traditional patternmethods. In this study, the body characteristics of female adults (25~55years old) in East Chinaare investigated, by the extraction of3D body data and transformed it into two-dimensionalpattern, in order to study the different basic shape of female’s trousers. The results are shown asfollows:(1)Division by the lower body type of female. In this paper,463female adults (25~55years old) were selected as samples for the female lower body research. The research was mainlyconducted by Martin measurement method to collect31types of date, combined with the TC2three-dimensional scanning method. All the data were subjected to statistical analysis by usingSPSS statistical software, such as data inspection, main component analysis, and cluster analysis.From the basic mathematical analysis, the girth factors of waist, belly, and hip are found to be themost important influence factors. According to the national standard, all the samples were dividedby the waist and hip difference as classification standard, and all the female adults (25~55yearsold) were divided into four types as P (pear)type, M (middle)type, W(fat)type and Z (column)type.(2)Establishment of the trousers basic type model. In this study, four types were selectedfor trousers basic type research,A Rapidform software with repair function to interpolation wasused to repair the blind scanning spot of human perineum. The line of waist, belly, hip and thesagittal center sections were extracted to get the structure model of human crotch curve; The crosssection of waist and hip girth were extracted in the AutoCAD software. The characteristics of fourbody types were analyzed, and the waist dart positions were determined in this study. By using the three order spline interpolation function and the arc length formula calculation, the waist dart sizewas determined and the crotch structure model was conducted finally; In order to construct thecrotch structure model, the characteristics of leg, the dart position in the crotch of trousers, and theprovincial allocation were analyzed according to the cross section of thigh and knee. Finally, basictrousers models of four body types were obtained by converting the crotch curve structure model,crotch structure based model and the crotch structure model.(3)Analysis of trousers structure. The front crotch front width of the trousers, the fallback ofcrotch length, the lower crotch angle, slash of the back center, and the back alice were analyzed inthis study. By establishing a mathematical regression model, the positive correlation between thecrotch width of the front and back pieces, the lower crotch length, the lower crotch angle, and themiddle crotch parameters. The positive correlation between tilt angle of the back center slash,back alice and the tilt angle of human hip were determined by setting the expansion of the backsheet equal to the tilt amount of the human hip.(4)Fitting and evaluation of trousers. Four volunteers were chosen to try on the trousers,and each volunteer represents the different body type. A subjective evaluation model wasestablished in order to evaluate the fitness and appearance of the trousers samples. The fuzzycomprehensive evaluation method was used to give a one stage and a two stage comprehensiveevaluations on trousers. The results show as follows: all the four types of trousers samples gothigh scores in the terms of fitness and appearance, and this may represents that the valuators weresatisfied with the static effect of the trousers samples. Thus, rationality and feasibility on thetheory of trousers is verified in this paper.
