While industrialization degree in our country is increasing day by day, there aremany changes to the society: the chemistry, pharmaceutical, brewing, food and oth-er industries developed rapidly. So, the types of products are becoming more andmore; the scale of production is booming; the solid waste is increasing rapidly alonewith the enormous economic and social benefits to the society. There is a lot ofwaste humidity and sticky (such as sludge, wet fly ash, etc). As people are coming torealize the serious condition we are facing: the world energy crisis, the shortage ofmineral resources, the more and more stringent environmental requirements. Thesefactors are driving people to process these sticky recycling of waste products. Dryingis very important in the process of dealing with viscous materials.At present, the shortage of drying equipment in domestic handling these viscouswastes varied from each other. In this paper, a high-efficiency dryer for viscous anddense material been designed and this dryer had several advantages: specifically tar-geted at high humidity, high viscous material;Scope of application was wide, simplestructure; advanced technical indicators with energy saving, high efficiency, be capa-ble of drying sticky waste rapidly with reasonable energy consumption and simpleprocess to fulfill the requirements of the specified parameters.First of all, the working principles of high-efficient dryer for viscous and densematerials were analyzed in detail in this paper, the movement process and heat trans-fer process of the materials inside the dryer were researched, analyzed the specificreason of energy-efficient for this dryer through comparing with the traditional drumdryer.Secondly, this paper established a3-D model of the high-efficient dryer forviscous and dense material by using the3-D parametric design software—Pro/Engineer, and designed the structure of main components of the dryer in detail,such as the main shaft, transmission and the feeding mechanism and seal, also maderesearch and calculation on the important technical parameters.Finally, used the ANSYS finite element simulation software to analysis the dryer,checked the spindle rigidity and thermal deformation of the most important part—the main shaft, and put forward some reasonable suggestions to the optimization of mainshaft according to the results of the analysis of the shaft.Based on the actual engineering application, accessing to the resources at homeand abroad and combined with the actual process parameter, a new type of dryingequipment for viscous and dense material was designed in this paper.This paper pro-vided an important reference for the development of the drying equipment for theviscous and dense material in our country.
