(1)By referring to authoritative information and data from e-commerce research institutions,this article, has explained the current situation and future development of the e-commerce macromarket and furniture market, then, has deduced that e-commerce has become an integral part ofthe furniture industry sales channels which unlike traditional commercial channels. The furnitureresearch and design, where there is a great need to explore, which applied to e-commerce is stillshortage.(2)This article illustrates that e-commerce platform is playing an important role ine-commerce economy, which effectively link the product and the consumer, so that virtualinteraction might occur between them.This article has divided furniture e-commerce platformsinto three types, namely integrated e-commerce platforms, vertical e-commerce platforms andsingle e-commerce platforms, and has discussed in details the characteristics and differences ofvarious types of furniture e-commerce platforms according to the latest data. This article hasshown that the furniture e-commerce platforms are different from each other in terms of category,total number, sales volume, sales, weighted average price and place of origin. Among all thefurniture e-commerce platforms, the transaction size of Tmall which links the typical bestsellersand the main consumers on what the follow-up study is based is the biggest.(3)This article, through access to a lot of the research literature, has summarized the finalpresentation of the furniture itself in the market into six categories which named PCMS systemincluded price, color, modeling, size, material and style, and has discussed in details the meaningand interrelation of each category in the PCMS system, and the significance, scope and limitationof the PCMS system. This article has researched three kinds of bestsellers included wardrobes,sofas, computer chairs on Tmall based on PCMS system. There are huge differences, on what thefollow-up study is based, between bestsellers online and that offline.(4)Based on the consumers linked by Tmall, this article determine the consumers that livingin the Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta and who is at the age of25-29years old as themain consumers. This article, through access questionnaire method, mathematical statistics andanalysis, reverse derivation, brainstorming, scene collection method, has generated lifestylemodel of main consumers which includes basic information model, network consumption model,demand for furniture model, household behavior and events model, on what the follow-up studyis based.(5)This article, according to characteristics of the typical bestsellers and main consumers,has summarized the design direction of wardrobes, computer chairs and sofas, and has given theexemplary design to which this article made the evaluation in the terms of the six categories ofPCMS system. The whole process can be the reference to furniture design and research.
