With the development of the machine tool, the accuracy of machine tool isbecoming more and more important. At the same time, the thermal property of feedsystem is an important factor. So, the research of feed system’s thermal property isimportant. The paper set up the theoretical model, fluid-solid-heat coupling Ansys-simulation,and process a large number of experiment of the feed system based on aprecision machine tool’s feed system. The main contents and innovation are asfollowing:(1) The theoretical models of the main heat sources in the feed system was setted upbased on thermal knowledge. The result is use for the Ansys simulation.(2) By means of ANSYS simulation, the temperature field of cooling liquid and feedsystem was getted with fluid-solid-heat coupling. A reliable Ansys model and theprinciple to select working condition was provided by the research of Ansyssimulation results in different conditions, such as, different feed speed, differenttemperature of cooling liquid.(3) A large number of thermal property experiments were procceded on a precisionmachine tool. By analyzing the temperature data and location accuracy data indifferent cooling fluid inlet temperature, in different cooling fluid flux.Therelationship between the precision of the feed system and cooling fluid inlettemperature, cooling fluid flow was getted. The result give a hand on the researchof feed system’s thermal property, and also ceritify the accuracy of the Ansyssimulation model.(4) The research of Zero draft, environmental temperature and the use of laserinterferometer in feed system’s thermal experiment provide a new way to prceedthe thermal experiment.
